The biggest challenge in your first few years is that of learning the complexities of the industry, learning the intensive discipline of the process and enabling yourself to run your own practice. That's why I believe providing a strong management environment to help you succeed is so important. —Bob Waltos  Jonathan FaganChief Development Officer Jonathan Fagan started his accomplished career with the Waltos Group as an intern in 1999. He became a full-time financial representative shortly after, and achieved a number of prestigious awards during that time, such as the National Sales Achievement Award (2005 – 2007), Million Dollar Round Table Qualifying Member (2005 – 2007), and the National Quality Award (2004 – 2008). In 2009, Jonathan was named the Chief Development Officer for the Waltos Group. As Chief Development Officer, Jonathan is committed to the successful development of new Financial Representatives as well as to the valuable execution of various agency procedures and practices. Jonathan currently resides with his wife, Haley, and his two sons, Ryan and Noah, in San Clemente. .  Steven LindholmManaging Director Steve Lindholm began his career in the financial services industry in 1995, and joined Northwestern Mutual in 1999. In addition to his role as a financial representative, Steve also serves as the Managing Director at the Newport Beach office. As a Managing Director, Steve is responsible for the recruitment and training of new financial representatives as he builds a core group of dynamic, passionate professionals that care about making a difference in their clients lives. As a financial representative, Steve helps successful individuals, business owners and institutions find the time to make smart decisions about money. He does this by helping to identify and prioritize the values that each individual brings to the table and compare them to the financial actions they are currently taking. Personally, Steve resides in Orange County with his wife, Maria and two energetic boys, James, born in 2000, and Grant, born in 2003;and their beautiful little girl, Julia, born in 2005. When not working, Steve enjoys coaching his kids in sports.  Thomas A Miller, CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®Managing Director Tom Miller has been a financial representative with The Waltos Group since 1995. He is a Managing Director and a Life Insurance Specialist, two very distinguished titles. He is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Education.
Tom began his career with The Waltos Group as an intern while in college. He was attracted to the career because he wanted to have the ability to be in control and to be able to dictate his own level of success.
Tom spends most of his free time with his family. Tom and his wife, Kathy have been married for nine years. They have two daughters, Summer who is seven and Sienna who is five years old. They like to work out a lot so finding that free time during the week is always a challenge but something they do to have balance in their lives.
 Brian ForthManaging Director Brian Forth has been a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual since 2002. He currently serves as both a Field Director and the firm’s disability insurance specialist. Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual, Brian was a four year letter winner with the Arizona State University football program. He graduated with honors from the W.P Carey School of business with a degree in marketing. Brian was attracted to this career after experiencing the impact of comprehensive planning at a young age. While in high school, Brian’s mother lost her battle to cancer. His father had was able step down from an executive level position with a local company and focus on being a Dad. The impact of this experience has helped shape the role Brian plays in his clients lives. Outside of the office, Brian spends every free second with his wife, Sara, and their two boys, Chase and Carson. They reside in San Clemente and enjoy any activity that is outdoors.  Edward Lee, CLU®, ChFC®Field Director Edward Lee has been with The Waltos Group since 2007.
He is a graduate from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with a degree in Political Science. Edward began his career after playing golf professionally for 7 years. He has played in multiple PGA Tour events as well as on the Canadian Tour. He was attracted to the career because it mirrors the work ethics and individuality of professional golf. He also enjoys the ability to work creatively with individuals, families, and businesses in creating financial strategies to reach financial goals.
He is currently a Field Director, and helps train and develop interns at Northwestern Mutual, one of America'sTop 10 internship programs, according to Vault Guide to Top Internships, 2009 edition.  Erik GomezField Director Erik Gomez has been a financial representative with The Waltos Group since 2005. He is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management as well as Business Finance. Erik began his career with The Waltos Group right out of college. He was attracted to the career because he wanted to have the ability to be in control, and to be able to dictate his own level of success. He has built his practice on working with goal-oriented professionals, families and business owners. He understands that the process starts with a client centered conversation helping them visualize what they want in the future, ending in implementing concrete solutions to help them protect that which is most important to them. He understands as he does this that the tax implication of any solution is of the utmost importance. Erik and his family, live in Huntington Beach. The family enjoys the outdoors and day trips to local community events. Erik also enjoys working out to have balance life outside of work.  James W Lauro, ChFC®, CLU®Field Director Jim Lauro is a Wealth Management Advisor that started working with Northwestern Mutual in 1980. He later joined the Waltos Group in 2000. Jim is a life and 31 year qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table. His expertise is personal and business life insurance planning, group disability, and longevity risk planning. Jim has been married to his wife Nathalie for 30 years. Their daughter, Brianna, graduated from the University of San Diego in 2007 and currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Their son, Spenser, is starting graduate school in the fall at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Jim and Nathalie spend a lot of their free time time with their close lifelong friends. Jim enjoys watching sports on TV, is an avid supporter of the Anaheim Ducks, and enjoys spending as much time on the golf course as possible.  Jimmy CusimanoField Director Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jimmy moved to Orange County to attend the University of California, Irvine to pursue a Bachelor’s of Arts in Cognitive Psychology with a minor in Business Management. During his last year of college, Jimmy Cusimano wanted to find an opportunity that would allow him to nest with a company that he felt he would fit in with long-term. He came across the internship opportunity with Northwestern Mutual in the Spring of 2007 and became a college intern at the age of 21. Jimmy Cusimano graduated from the University of California, Irvine in the Summer of 2008 and decided to accept the full-time Financial Representative position offered to him in October of 2008. Jimmy Cusimano is currently a full-time Financial Representative and the College Unit Director for the Waltos Group in Newport Beach, CA  Kyle AschenbrennerCollege Unit Director Kyle Aschenbrenner grew up in a small town of 1,000 people called Surrey, North Dakota. Kyle has been a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual since 2006. He is a graduate of Minot State University, in Minot, N.D. with a Bachelors degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting. Kyle began his career with The Gores Agency in North Dakota. He was attracted to the Waltos Group in Newport Beach, CA in 2009 to support his wife Mallori through Optometry school at Southern California School of Optometry. Kyle spends most of his free time with friends and family, he is a die-hard Dallas Cowboy football fan. He also enjoys playing basketball, softball, and beach football. Kyle and his wife, Mallori have been married for 2 years. They like to work out a lot so finding that free time during the week is always a challenge but something they do to have balance in their lives.  Chris Ewing, MBAFinancial Representative Chris Ewing is the College Unit Director for the Inland Empire office.  Dawn MurphyDirector of Network Office Supervision As the Director of Network Office Supervision, Dawn Murphy supervises the activities of financial representatives and their employees with respect to laws, regulations, and company rules related to insurance and securities sales practices. Dawn, a member of the internal leadership team, is focused on ensuring that all business pertaining to the clients of The Waltos Group is appropriately managed by their financial guidance team.  Haley FaganChief Financial Officer Haley Fagan was born and raised in Scottsdale Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University in 1998 with a bachelor of Science in Accountancy. She was recruited by Marriott and moved to California in 1999. After working for Marriott for 6 years she moved to an operations role, where she became the Vice President of Operations for Acclaim Technical Services, a small government sub-contractor in Huntington Beach, California. There she assisted in growing the company from 30 employees to 300 and annual revenue from $750K to $25M in three years. Over the course of 4 years Haley developed several processes and procedures and managed the HR, Accounting, Marketing, Security and IT Departments. She is currently the Chief Financial Officer for The Waltos Group and is also heading up the remodel of 29,000 square feet across three floors. She met her husband Jonathan Fagan, playing co-ed softball for Marriott and has been married for 10 years. She lives in San Clemente with Jonathan and their two sons, Ryan and Noah.  Sara ForthDirector of Marketing and Communications As Director of Marketing and Communications, Sara Forth is part of the leadership team at The Waltos Group. She is committed to supporting Bob Waltos' efforts to reach out and be involved in the local Orange County community. Sara dedicates her time to various external marketing efforts that help create awareness for the entire team at The Waltos Group, including sponsorships of the annual Toshiba Golf Classic in Newport Beach and OC Metro Magazine's yearly Hottest 25 People in Orange County event. Sara has been a member of the Waltos Group team since 2002. Sara is married to Brian and they have 2 energetic little boys; Chase, born in 2008 and Carson, born in 2010. Sara and her family reside in San Clemente.  Janice BrodinDirector of Recruitment and Selection Janice Brodin has been with the Waltos Group since 2008 and is currently the Director of Recruitment and Selection for the Newport Beach, Orange, and Inland Empire offices. She is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a concentration in Financial Management. Janice began her career with the Waltos Group as a part-time employee while still attending college and explored numerous roles such as the Recruiting and Marketing Coordinator and the Executive Assistant to the Chief Development Officer, Jonathan Fagan. Janice was attracted to Northwestern Mutual because of its integrity and its highly respected reputation within the industry as a whole and within our own local communities. Upon graduation, Janice found a passion for helping individuals uncover what their big picture looks like, and if a career within the Northwestern Mutual could be their vehicle to get them there. Janice grew up in Valley Center, CA in North County San Diego and moved up to Orange County for school and quickly fell in love with the area. In her free time, she enjoys taking spin classes, going on bike rides, and interior decorating. Sonia GonzalezExecutive Assistant Sonia is the Executive Assistant to Bob Waltos |
