Tiffany Farran Receives $2,000 “Future Women Business Leader” Tiffany Farran, 23, a MBA student in the George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., has been selected to receive the fifth annual "Future Women in Business" scholarship from The Waltos Group of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, headquartered in Newport Beach. The $2,000 scholarship was created to stimulate the pursuit of excellence in business by rewarding outstanding female college-level students based on academic achievement, business acumen and community involvement. Funded by The Waltos Group, the scholarship also was established to open avenues to different industries and career options. Applicants were required to submit an essay explaining why they should be chosen as the scholarship winner; a “road map” of their personal and professional lives ahead; letter of reference from a professor, a mentor and a local business owner; and a description of community and charitable involvement. Based on a point system, the scholarship was awarded to the applicant with the highest accumulative points. A long-time resident of Orange, Tiffany Farran is pursuing her MBA with an emphasis in Marketing Strategy and Management Organization at Chapman University. She also serves as the Director of Events for the school’s MBA program.
