The Waltos Group was proud to sponsor OC METRO Magazine's "Hot 25 Awards" on October 26, 2006 at Newport Lexus. This year's honorees represented the worlds of business, government, higher education, non-profit, health care, and law. This year, The Waltos Group presented an award, "Quiet Achievers" Award. Dale Dykema, an Orange County businessman and philanthropist, was been named the recipient of the first annual "Quiet Achievers" award. The award, presented at Churm Publishing's yearly "Hottest 25 of Orange County" event, recognizes an individual in the community whose quiet, sincere efforts and enduring commitment have had a lasting and positive impact on the people of the county. "For nearly 150 years, Northwestern Mutual has been known as the 'Quiet Company'," said Bob Waltos, managing partner of The Waltos Group. "We took our lead from that and created 'The Quiet Achiever' award, which annually honors someone who has made a significant and enduring influence on Orange County. Dale Dykema exemplifies what the meaning of what this award is all about." "As we learned about the numerous organizations and causes he has given himself to over the years, the lives that have been touched by his vision and dedication, and the long term influence his work will continue to have in Orange County, we could not think of a more perfect and deserving recipient of this award."
