The Waltos Group Supports OC Ultra-Marathoner who Ran 78.6 Miles for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
While most people were sleeping on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 3, one Orange County, Calif., athlete embarked on a demanding, 78.6-mile run to raise funds to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF), a deadly disease that affects more than 30,000 children in the United States each year. That distance is about the same between Huntington Beach and Del Mar, Calif., or between John Wayne Airport and Los Angeles Airport – and back again.
During the annual Surf City Marathon in Huntington Beach, Charles Bauknecht, 33, a Costa Mesa resident, ran three marathons concurrently with the goal of raising more than $30,000 to benefit the Southern California chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Waltos Group banded together to become a major sponsor of Bauknecht’s “Trifecta.”

The second annual 5K run held on October 7, 2007 was an enjoyable run/walk. The 5K not only offers a tour of the university's picturesque campus in Orange, it also reflects the vibrancy of a school on the move. In recent years, Chapman University has grown in size and stature, adding many new facilities and earning a No. 1 ranking in student selectivity in U.S. News & World Report's guide to Western universities. The Waltos Group was proud to not only sponsor the event but field a team of participants in the race as well.

Orange County Business Council Chairman's Leadership Breakfast
1) At a recent Orange County Business Council Chairman's Leadership Breakfast, Bob Waltos joins local business and community leaders, who are working together to create a “Leadership Education” series for the local Hispanic business community.
Block Party to benefit the Tiger Woods Learning Center
Bob Glowienke and Paul Glowienke, a financial representative with The Waltos Group, sponsored the 2007 event, which raised more than $1 million.
 The Waltos Group Sponsored Toshiba Classic
The 2007 Toshiba Classic was held March 5-12 at the Newport Beach Country Club. The Toshiba Classic is the charitable leader on the Champions Tour and has raised more than $8.8 million for more than 20 different charities—the most on the entire Champions Tour. Bob Waltos Receives 2006 Community Service Award
For his long-time efforts in supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Bob Waltos was recently award a Community Service Award (CSA) and $10,000 was donated on his behalf to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  The Estrella Awards Banquet and Installation Dinner
The Waltos Group is proud to have been a part of this inspiring event, which recognized various leaders throughout the Latino community and within the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. The event also celebrated the Chamber's 20th anniversary.
Among the many awards presented, Dr. Al Mijares received an award for his work in the Santa Ana Unified School District and the Honorable Miguel Pulido, Mayor of Santa Ana, California, received an award for lifetime achievement. Please visit the event's site for photos and more information.
 Sponsorship of Toshiba Senior Golf Classic helps many causes
The Waltos Group has been a proud sponsor of the Toshiba Senior Golf Classic for several years. The tournament, whose name was shortened this year to the Toshiba Golf Classic, has raised millions of dollars for more than 20 different charities. Those funds have made a significant impact on the local community. The primary beneficiary of the tournament is Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, a nationally acclaimed hospital that brings world-class healthcare to the community.
